Well, thankfully my Endochrinologist told me to just go to the pharmacy and get the OTC D3... I'll have to look into the gelcaps and ask about how much I should be taking.

Any other ideas are apreciated!

Why do you think that? The person that was really heartless was my old Pain Clinic Dr.

yes the old pain clinic doctor also but you are already done with them, the pcp for the same reason for doing nothing to help you titrate down on tramadol and making you go through withdrawals.

.........they do it differently so sometimes people have to be on both. He decided i should stay on both after he tried to take me off the Gab. recently and my pain went up. And he refuses to give me more than 300mg a day of Lyrica (even when he though I was going off the Gabapentin)................

Macophile,
Looks like he doesn't have a clue as to how to do
a replacement titration using the formula of 300mg Lyrica = 1800mg Gabapentin
with maximum of 600mg Lyrica to replace 3600 mg Gabapentin
in 50 mg increments every 3 days.
That's what the head of neurology at Johns Hopkins Rx'd for me to switch, and I had no adverse reactions along the way.
I replaced 4200mgs Gabapentin with 3 divided doses of 200mgs Lyrica
by the time the titration was finished in about a week to 10 days.
It is necessary to go in 50-100mg increments of Lyrica to see if there is adverse s/e.

Macophile,
Sorry your under such duress and hope you don't mind me taking a copy of your meds to the doctor I see at the VA clinic every month. I take Methadone and Lyrica (very low dosage) and its the best combination for pain relief I have tried and believe me I have tried about all of them. IMHO I do believe your over medicated. Will let you know my doctors opinion in a pm. I just had a flareup that put me down for 4 days, but I don't get them as often as I use to and I don't fall anymore like I use to when I was on heavy dosages of Lyrica and Tramadol and developed breathing problems. Hang in there

Thanks so much for your concern. I agree that I take many many drugs- and that isn't even the complete list. Here it is in it's entirety:

Migraine
1) Amitriptyline- 10mg tablet (6 at night)
2) Topamax- 100mg tablet (1 at night)
3) Magnesium- 500mg (1 at night)

Allergies/Asthma
1) Benadryl- 25mg caps (1-2 caps as needed.)
2) Singulair- 10mg tablet (1 at night)

Period Regulation
1) Solia- (Desogestrel 0.15mg, Ethinyl Estradiol 0.03mg) tab (1 at night)

High Blood Sugar (important to note Dr. is positive this is not diabetes)
1) Metformin- 500mg tablet (2 tabs- 2x a day- before breakfast & dinner, if >140 take 1, if >180 take 2.)

Irritable Bowel Syndrome/Acid Reflux
1) Florajen 3- 460mg caps (2-4 caps a day)
2) Flagyl- 250mg tablet (3 tabs a day)
3) Miralax- 1tsp daily
4) Protonix- 40mg tablet (1 tab a day, as needed)

Peripheral Neuropathy/Fibromyalgia/Auto-Immune Disease
1) Gabapentin- 600mg tablet (5x a day)
2) Lyrica- 100mg caps (1 cap. 3x a day)
3) Baclofen- 10mg tablet (2 tabs. 3x a day)
4) Methotrexate- 2.5mg tablet (8 tabs per week)
5) Folic Acid- 1mg tablet (1 tab a day)
6) Vitamin D3- 1000IU tablet (1 tab daily)
7) Vitamin B12- 1000mcg tablet (1 tab daily)

Let me know if you get any feedback. (most dr's are reluctant to pass judgement on other people they haven't seen) My dr's all just want to a just what I am an not try anything new it seems. I will be seeing a new Rheumatologist in Oct. so maybe he will have some new opinions.

Lightbulb

Flagyl is a known causer of PN.

I'd discuss your need for this daily anyway, with your doctor.

Since you take metformin, I'd raise the B12 some. Perhaps 2 to 3 mg a day. Metformin depletes B12.

Amitriptyline depletes B2 (riboflavin which activates B6) and CoQ-10.
