At 4200mgs/day, the gabapentin did not give me any adverse s/e other than weight gain. Never felt that I was in danger, as my Rx'ng neuro is the head of the dept at Hopkins. I felt he knew what was best for me. When it was time to switch, it went thru very smoothly, and neither does Lyrica give me any negative s/e (other than still have the weight). It works wonders for me.
