It often depends on what time you tour the gym. i.e late afternoon, early morning. Ask the gym when are the quiet times and go for another tour then

SC, I hope that the gym works out well for you.
Using treadmills and bikes is not only a great way of increasing muscle mass but is also good for improving aerobic fitness .

SC,
Just a little something to think about.... I purchased over a year ago a Stamina-in-Motin Elliptical trainer from Sharper Image. It is one of those used to sit on a chair and pedal. Amazon also has this trainer. It is quite sturdy and has a pressure dial to increase tension. The pedals are quite large. I have it off to a corner near family room area. It's far from going to a gym; but in the meantime something like this might be/is helpful building up the leg muscles from getting atrophied. It has quite a bit of weight so it does not move around. Easy to use while watching TV or just for a few minutes here and there. I keep the Trainer on a rubber mat (carpeting may cause it to move somewhat). The rubber mat keeps it in place. I frequently have to pass by it. The temptation to sit down and do something to keep my legs and feet in motion is a good thing. Also, It does not cause my PN to flare up.
