Default Alan is now using Neuragen

Hi All.

A few nights ago, Alan was going NUTS with the burning in his feet. I was up all night with him. Nothing I did worked. All the full body massaging. NOTHING WORKED. We found out the next morning that the temperature had dropped more than 20 degrees. It was COLD when we woke up. But we got very little sleep that night.

So the other day I was in Walgreens and I saw a little bottle of Neuragen. So I went to the pharmacist and said "Listen, this little bottle is $29.99 and I'm not a rich person and if it does nothing for my husband's neuropathy, well, I will have thrown away $29.99"

The pharmacist said "Buy it, and if it doesn't work, bring back the bottle with the package and the receipt and we'll refund the money".

Alan tried it.

IT WORKED!!!

He's sitting inside on the couch right now. I just took some drops and put them on my fingers and put some on his right food (three toes). He's been doing this since yesterday.

He actually slept great last night. He sleeps better when he goes to bed later and gets up later. He says "it helps with my neuropathy". So he'll be up all night watching tv or going on the computer, and he'll come to bed at 6 a.m. or therabouts, and he gets up at 1 p.m. So far this works for him.

And it says on the bottle "If there is a larger area that needs the Neuragen, just add a few drops to some olive oil".

Makes sense. It does smell like Oil of Cloves. But hey, what the hell, it stopped his burning.

I don't know how long this will last BUT ANY RELIEF IS GOOD RELIEF.

I was hesitant about buying this stuff but the pharmacist did assure me that if it didn't work, they would refund the purchase price.

I don't think we'll be asking for any money back.

So......so far, soooo good.

Just wanted to share.

Melody glad it helped Alan with his neuropathy and hope it continue to do so.
It is always good to hear that something is working and some can get relief.

Blessings, Trish

I think that with this Neurogen, well it has a lot to do with everything else cooperating...like the barometer.

For example, right now, I'm going crazy (not with neuropathy) but with my degenerative joint disease. You can put me in the Sahara Desert and it could be 105 and I'd probably be just fine. I always am IF IT'S HOT!!!

But give me a rainy day (like we had today), and humidity that hits over 80, and I'm dead.

I AM much better on a day to day basis ever since I started sprouting. It's very good as an anti-inflammatory (my sprouts I mean).

So I can deal with this arthritis thing as well as anyone can, I would imagine. But on days like today, well, I'm using Bio-Freeze on my arms, on my shoulders. EVERYWHERE. I'm walking like a little old lady (but inside my brain, believe me I'M NO LITTLE OLD LADY lol

I just went over to Alan and asked him how he was doing with the Neurogen and he had his vibrating thing on his thighs. When he sits on the couch, he uses this gadget that he got from Brookstone and it gets the blood down to his feet.

I said "Is the Neurogen doing what it's supposed to do"? and he said "well, yeah, it just takes the edge off".

I then said "the package said that if it doesn't work right away to re-apply". So I just went over and took some drops and did his toes over again.

I think this is not a five minute "yeah, this is the big one, I found a way to treat my neuropathy". Nah, I don't think it's going to be like that with him.

I think it will be more subtle. Like maybe it will increase the more he uses it. It says not to use it more than 4 times a day. I wonder why, because it's herbal, right? So what's the harm in using it more than 4 times a day?

I'm not going to put him on it more than 4 times, but I'm just curious.

I think (with the weather being what it is right now), that it's a good thing that we have this Neurogen. Even if it just takes the edge off of his burning, I mean, we'll take anything that works right?

I got REAL lucky with the Methyl B-12.

Best darn thing I ever did for my body.

So I'll let a few days pass and I'll update on how my better half is doing with the Neurogen.

Melody,

I've heard great things about this stuff, although I haven't yet tried it. If you go to their website, they offer a $5 coupon towards the purchase.

Take care!

Lightbulb

I have to wonder how effective something can be --2 drops when further diluted with olive oil for larger areas!

In my personal experience, putting ANYTHING on the feet changes the perception of air hitting the nerves and changes feeling. I found that plain Aquaphor worked like that for me.
I did some experiments with lotions/ointments years ago.

I'd try some plain olive oil without the costly Neuragen, and see what happens. Best to do this without Alan's knowledge, to minimize placebo effect results. You could open the bottle while doing it so he could "smell"it, but just don't put on the feet for one application. See if the plain olive oil works!

The thing that bothers me most about this product is the PRICE.

Or if its both feet you can include him in an 'experiment'
Tell him you're gonna put it on one, and not the other
but do it 'blind' so he doesn't know which, is which-
and see if he can tell the difference.

That is a great idea, Bob.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE.

I returned the bottle this morning.

Alan walked into our bedroom last night and said "Return the bottle and get the money back, this thing is not doing enough of what it's supposed to do".

I said "Are you sure, let's see what happens up until you go to bed".

He came to bed at 5 a.m. (he wakes me up just because he walks in the room). I don't mind because I get up to make a small "wee" visit to the ladies room.

So when he got into bed, before I got up, I turned to him and said "do you still want me to bring back the Neuragen, it didn't work AT ALL??"

He said "nah, didn't do the trick, bring it back, I'll continue to use the bio-freeze and the tiger balm".

So this morning I brought it back and got my $29.99 refunded.

THANK GOODNESS.

And I'll do the experiment on Alan as you all suggested.

Tonight I'll tell him "Oh, guess what, I read on the internet how you can make a home-made solution using simple things we have in the kitchen".

He will say "oh yeah, go for it, what do I have to lose".

I will then take plain old olive oil and put it exactly where I put the Neuragen.

Let's see what happens.

Will update.

Thumbs down Thumbs down on Neuragen

Hi Melody (and everyone else since I'm new here and haven't made my introduction yet),

I tried Neurogen about a year ago and like Alan, thought that it was helping at first. It's so hard to tell sometimes if something helps or not because the PN pain in itself is so inconsistent. And like Alan's experience, I find that some other variable can sometimes be in play.

Anyway, I found that it didn't really help. Plus there's the odor, while not bad if you don't mind that herbal kind of scent, seems to permeate everything. I never even considered going to work with it on because it's so pungent.

And as others mentioned before, there's the price, which I admit I would grudgingly pay if it actually worked.

I will make a formal introduction when I know a little more about my condition. I'm due for more bloodwork and waiting for a QSART test in a few weeks. You folks seem great (and very patient!) so I don't want to waste anyone's time here until I have a full story.

Joan

Hi Joan.

Guess what. YOU'VE JUST INTRODUCED YOURSELF.

lol

Nice meeting you.

And thanks for sharing your experience with Neuragen. Alan told me yesterday "the trouble with my feet is that everything works for a while but then it stops.

I really need to make him believe that whatever I apply, well, that there is MAGIC ingredients that will last and maybe that will have his endorphins kick in and he'll get relief for a while.

Couldn't do it last night because he was up much later than me.

Tonight I shall give it a try. I did mention to him "oh, guess what Mrs. Doubtfire has a simple home-based treatment that you just apply to the toes and it brings relief". He said "Really? what's in it".

I had to scramble around in my brain and I just said "Oh, things I have in my kitchen, things that are natural, calming and quiet the nerves". I also said "might work, might not work, but we have to give it a try, because it has HELPED SOME PEOPLE. See, I planted a seed in his mind.

Since he respects everyone on this message board and he knows how Methyl B-12 changed my mind, he is very open to trying ANYTHING.

Tonight I shall find something to add to a tablespoon of olive oil. Maybe I'll add a drop of coconut oil to the mixture. SOMETHING that will change the smell so that he'll think it's a new compound or something to that effect.

The mind is a wonderful thing. It goes places where no man has gone before.

I have to reach a portion of his mind that kicks out endorphins.

Will attempt this later.

Melody
