You have that right, cowboy--I have experienced this first-hand and it really does help some people (but sometimes injections or surgery are the only things that will fix it). In the past, there was a magic weight that, if I attained it, would pretty much make the pain go away. But that has been a good while ago, so I don't know if it would work that way now. I'm trying hard to take off the weight I gained after quitting smoking, but it's very slow-going, like 1/4 lb a week. It's hard to stay motivated with that little payoff, but I have found that Tramadol knocks out my appetite for long parts of the day so at least all I'm fighting is "that would taste really good", not "I'm starving" and that's a fight I can win.

I can sympathize on the weight loss struggles. The foot pain makes walking difficult much of the time. I discovered and enjoy "aqua-aerobics" through my local parks department. An hour of activity and stretches that gives me pain relief for a few hours and help with conditioning.

Good luck with your effort.

My doctor gave me some exercise to do for this knee problems, but I went to the YMCA gym with my daughter and noticed they have exercise that strengthen those very muscle.

It's feeling somewhat better but still feel that rubbing pain issue. Hope strengthening these muscle will make a difference. Did some swimming too which is easier on the knees.

Doing what I can just hope it is enough.
