I had never run into the iontophresis before just recently. The pain doc the ortho sent me to prescribed iontophresis along with ultrasound, elec. stim etc. No one could tell me if it was going to affect my bones. I had two treatments and then stopped it because I was afraid it would damage my already fragile bones.

I'm thinking about putting the salonpas patches on my ankle. We're having to put a brace on the left one. It aches all the time. But I'm wondering if the salonpas will be too much with the indomethacin. Seems like everything affects something else.

Thanks for the article. In reading it, it seems that using less current for a longer period of time will do more good than using it for a short period with more intense current. Just the opposite of the way it was given to me. :rolleyes:

Billye.... You are a complicated case, so you should always ask, about the patches.

But the amount of active ingredient that is absorbed into the blood itself is very small. Compared to Indocin it is a spit in the ocean!

I have a negative sign. The PN pain is from the balls of my feet to the tips of my toes. Sometimes they burn, sometimes the are cold, but always feel numb.

Hi, I have Idiopathic Neuropathy.. I have tingling in my toes and at the outside of my feet, a small amount of tingling. However, I only feel the tingling when tapping at the lower range of the red line.

What does all this mean?

What do you mean by the "red line". Is there an actual red line on your foot?

It says I voted in this poll but I don't remember it. And I am positive for the tinel sign. Does that mean that the decompression surgery might get rid of the PN? Could that be what my problem is?? I was DX with idiopathic PN.
