Default Cure for Neuropathic Pain

Hi,

I am investigating about:

Neurotrophin NT3 - maybe the cure for Neuropathic pain

http://www.neuropathy.org/site/DocSe....pdf?docID=702

Can someone that lives in the States go to the Neuropathy association to know what ever hapenned to this medicine? Why isn't available yet? Why hasn't been approved by the FDA? Does anyone knows why? It is supposed to regrow nerve fibers:

These complex biological entities are very difficult to handle, and prove worth.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1...&ordinalpos=17

For example, how would doctors control this factor, select out only one effect when it has many?

When one sees these research articles it can give false hopes. Even when something is on a fast track it can take 10 yrs or longer before coming to the patients. Right now there is huge controversy over treatment of Parkinson's disease, since nothing new is being offered them, even with all the research coming out. It is very frustrating all around, and I understand your question, and don't have an answer for you.

You can click on PubMed at the top right of the page here, and type in Neurotropin-3 to search and see what I mean. The research papers are listed there.

Very true. They have been doing it in mouse models for CMT1A but there is so much more to find out. Thanks mrsD.
