Default News from me...MRIs and more

Hello

Now I'm positive I have Neuropathic Pain. I tryed stop taking diasepan and pain come back again. Tonight I woke up with my genitals burning. My eyes are also burning. I also notice that when I shiver in cold the pain arises. I'm also sure that the explanation for the pain to affect my entire body is because of the two MRI that i did. It might be odd but it is the only valid explanation. Nobody massage me on my eyes. I notice this burning sensation on the same night I did my MRI. Am I the only person in the world to have this kind of allergy to Magnetic Resonances?

I feel so bad...and with 10 th months baby....

If you quit taking diazepam and you've been taking it for quite a while you will go into withdrawal which can cause all sorts of horrible feelings, including pain!

NOW, I want you to know that just because you had two MRI's and all those test that ruled out nerve damage doesn't mean that "it has to be Chronic Neuropathic Pain", in my opinion it says JUST THE OPPOSITE. I think that if you take ALL of the opinions and ideas from the people that have contributed them from this bored and APPLY them to your life, you might feel better. Instead of researching and coming to assume that you've got this problem and this problem, spend that time playing with your child. There are MILLIONS of people in the United States alone that have chronic and debilitating pain that have children and are DAMN good parents. This will only cause you problems if you let it.

I'm not a doctor, but with your horrible "allergic" reaction to the magnets in the MRI and all these symptoms that are spreading to your eyes and the HIGH levels of anxiety that I can tell you have, I might be inclined to say that you could be causing yourself some of this grief. These are all things you should tell your doctor, tell him how you feel, about your stress and grief, he/she is the only one able to assess these things and come out with a diagnosis. Okay?

Relax, breathe, quit searching the internet for causes of your symptoms, there are TONS of diseases and syndromes that have MULTIPLE symptoms that are all connected.

If you search on benzowithdrawal, you will find hundreds if not thousands of people going thru benzodiazepine issues.

I suggest you call your doctor and have him or her come up with a withdrawal schedule which is reasonable. Expect to be quite uncomfortable.

People get physically dependent on benzodiazepines, regardless of why they are prescribed.

You can find forums and live support to get off, however, call your doctor soon, since withdrawal can be dangerous if not done properly.

Diazepam withdrawal causes a severe flu like syndrome, severe headaches, neck aches, all over burning, weight loss, nausea, vomitting. It is truly awful, and can be quite prolonged. However, if you can get off with the help of your doc, in time, your symptoms will disappear and you can resume normal life.

Thank you Joshua for your kind words

I'm pretty sure MRIs are somehow connected with nerve damage. When I did the first one, I woke up in the midle of the night with what it seems my rips marked from inside on my skin. Unfortunatelly I cannot prove this, because there is no case reported. I also felt a incresed and a spread of my neuropathic pain to my whole torso. In the beginning I thought it was something to do with Lyrica reaction but I stop taking Lyrica and 2 months after I did another MRI and my pain spread to my whole body. This pain is intermitent. It fells like a burning sensation specially on joints. My hope is if this is reversible somehow. For example, if one's could stop the cause for its neuropathic pain does the pain stops? For instances If a person with diabetes and Neuropathic pain, could be cured from diabetes, would its neuropathic pain also be gone? What do you think?

I'll repeat what I mentioned earlier. You should get tested for iron overload disease...where iron is deposited in the tissues due to genetic failure. This is called hemochromatosis, and is inherited.

How can I know if I have Hemocromatose? is there any blood test? What about fabri disease, is there any test either?

Anyway I saw on the internet that the best way to evaluate hemocromatose is an MRI.

I am more incline to this:

Do you think it is reversible?

The MRI may show deposits in the liver, if the doctors look for them that is. If your MRI had a rule/out comment, the doctors may only look for what is asked for.

People with tattoos often get side effects from MRIs...because of the iron in them. Hemochromatosis is similar in that iron may be present in tissues, and cause side effects like you are describing.

I think the language issue here is keeping you from reading the links I give you? Yes, blood work is needed. Simple bloods tests described in the 2 links I just put up.

Yes the language issue is surely a problem , that was why I wanted to call you. But listen, I'm completely sure that MRIs damage small nerves fibers. I AM SURE... And this is impossible to prove because only now they are beggining to see if one's has Small nerve fibers, with biopsys, etc... Any way, Since my MRIs I also have burns in my esofage, genitals, ****, etc... (I don't have MS) And one day, this side effect is going to be known to everybody. Maybe the idiopathic reason for people develope NP is because they are living near magnetic fiels etc...

But I'm gonna ask my neuro about that exam, and I'm gonna do it. I wish I burned my tissue instead of damage my nerves.

My only doubt is, since I don't plan on doing MRI EVER again, would my neuropathic pain stop? What do you think?

PS: When I stoped the MRI my mussels were trembling (Pumping) for periods of 10 minutes... Becareful with MRIs everybody...
