That's like saying there's no proof that the full moon affects mental patients! Its subjective, and observational. If it looks like an elephant and smells like an elephant, it probably is an elephant!

Dealing with snow and just plain freezing cold!
Hi! I'm new, so not sure if you all will get a notice saying you got a new post to this old thread. Could someone please respond and tell me if that's how this forum works?
And I just wanted to say I really felt better after reading this entire thread tonight. This winter has been hellish here too, and I see I'm not so alone in how it can have such a negative effect on how one feels! (I thought it was just me, and that I should be able to handle it better). I dread winter. I try my best to use every tool I have to make it through each year with a better frame of mind than last. I figured I was handling it pretty good by the end of this December. (It's been 9 years total since the pain started). January was at least better than last year this time. But by now, March, I'm pretty much a basket case! So reading this helped a lot. I'm not going off the deep end for no reason. :o It's late, and I hope my brain is forming thoughts into readable sentences. but I wanted to say thank you for these posts. And that I'm upping my Vitamin D dose. :winky: Take care and I hope you have had a break of warm (anything above 50 degree) days!!! Sunrise PS: Sometime I'll talk more about my health stuff (or add it to my sig). I'll just say the PN is the worst part! |

To answer your question; there is an option where members can opt to be automatically notified via email when a new post is added to any thread to which they've contributed. Those who've chosen this option will be notified, othes won't. The addition of your post to this thread has caused the thread to be bumped back to the top of the topics in the forum, so hopefully those not notified will see that you've re-opened the discussion. I hope that helps. |
The option is called 'subscribe' and will notify you by email
You will find it in the drop-down box 'Thread Tools' at the top of the page where the posts start. |
Hi sushine welcome. I actually moved states from up north because the cold winter was horrible on my condition. There is no "perfect" state but the cold/snow is extremly horrible on me by far. Welcome to the boards

Like you said there's no perfect climate but I bet I could think of a couple better ones than the mountains! Sunrise |
I think that San Diego has the most temperate clime in the USA.
Average 70-75 degrees for 365 days. .........But its on the San Andreas Fault. (Nothing's perfect ). |

Nide I always though San Diego had cold winters like 50's? Well at least spring is around the corner for all in cold states. Tonight is spring forward |
Its 56 degrees today in San Diego (52 in Balto- D.C.)
I was meaning the average temp. Summers can get in the high 80's sometimes. I'll take 50's (w/no snow) rather than 15-25 (or less) with 60"-85" ofsnow (in less than 2 weeks, this year). and 80 rather than 98-103 like it is around here. But around here, you can't feel the ground shake, and the dishes rattle. |

Anything you can tell me about San Diego would be greatly appreciated. Daniella, I live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains. Before this illness I thought the weather was great. Funny how the cold/fronts are my enemies now. Can you tell me where you live? Do you like the weather? I will keep in mind the teaching hospitals for future reference. They are calling for snow tonight! Sunrise |
Thanks to all, for the warm welcome! (Pun intended.) I'll post something in the introduction thread so you all have an idea of who the heck I am. :)

Sunrise I moved from MI to FL but lived in CA before that. Ca was the best for my leg pain but for my eye condition it was worse but not as bad as MI winter. FL is better then MI though for the legs and eyes by far. The humidity can be hard sometimes for my leg and foot pain here in FL. This winter here has been cold though and the up and down weather is not good. Everyone is different but when it is cold/snow I turn into crying pain. I am no way not in pain right now cause I have had a majorly bad month but the warm does help.
Nide I get it the average now I see. I heard San Diego is pretty. I agree snow is yuck. Sending warm thoughts |
