Default trigeminal neuropathy remedies

I have trigemnial neruopathy on the left side of my face after a fall over 3 yrs ago. It is not neuralgia which causes occasional shooting pains but it is constant pain and numbness from the botton of the sye thru the lip area. I have recently gotten spasms just above the upper lip and this is troubling and the muscle feels like it was pulled and that is where the spams occur.

I currently take 3200 mg of Gabapentin and 100 mg extended release of Contrmal or Tramadol.

Has anyone found any natural remeides for this neuropathy or others. I am tired oof all the heavy dose and now more symptons.

Thanks already

Phyllis

Sounds like you have ES .......
("Elvis Syndrome"- twitching of upper lip towards eye)
But seriously,
How much Tramadol is your daily dose - total?
How often and at what dosage is your Neurontin/Gabapentin?
Dosage adjustment would be the first trial to see about pain control.
The spasms could be controlled with Baclofen or something similar.
But you definitely have to take something, to control two (or three) different issues. Pain, PN Symptoms (different from pain), & spasms.

Are you describing a TENS unit hooked up to acupuncture needles?
That is a novel idea. I don't think that acupuncture can do anything better than a temporary (a few hours to a day or so) relief, or decrease in symptoms, or pain.
Needles with TENS sounds a bit radical.

I have had great success with taking magnesium for muscle spasms (caused both by stroke and neuropathy).

I tried baclofen but it was too sedating for me.
