My goal is to get on my bike, first tho, I need to retrofit my gorgeous blue racing bike, to make it what I used to call a Fred bike...higher handle bars, padded everything. I need my shifters changed to bar ends. That will cost me some money. Dog gone it, this bike is fairly new, and now I have to retrofit it...foo. Those shifters on the brakes are not a good idea for people with small hands or hand issues.

I can't ride in the racing position anymore....hands won't take it. Hands hurt when I am sitting perfectly still not using them, let alone riding with them.

The only pool in town is a private club, and I have gone, but the thing is, they have some mold on the doors and exterior wall and I am really not too keen on breathing in mold spores. I wish they would fix that, because it is a nice pool, and warm too!

We will see how things go....I can dream.

I was never any good at bike riding I have a thing called a pedal exerciser where you can sit in you lounge chair and pedal away, I don't mind that. It is a pity about your local pool because it is fun. I a not sure about winter because I am tall so the bottom half of me will be warm and the top half will be freezing, might have to wear a long sleeve top or something, but it will not get cold here untill about June so I do not have to worry yet.

Dreaming is all we can do

Take care

Alias names for MSG

Also consider an elimination diet. If you suspect something, like gluten, go gluten free for a month. Log your responses. Then reintroduce it... if it is a culprit, you should really react when it is reintroduced.

This is how I found potatoes for myself.

Another big culprit is MSG in foods. VERY common, and it can have major effects on the nerves.

According to Dr. Russell Blaylock in his book about excitotoxins, MSG goes by many other names in food products in an effort to hide the fact that MSG is being added. Some of these are Carrageenan, maltodextrin, hydrolyzed protein or caseinate, autolyzed yeast, yeast extract, natural flavors, sodium caseinate and calcium caseinate, protein concentrate, protein isolate, seasonings, etc. There are probably more, but these are pretty common.

My feet have been burning much more lately, and I finally checked the label on the shaved turkey container which I'd been eating for lunch for several days; sure enough, it had carrageenan in it!

Absolutely, when I go to the local Safewa*, it takes me quite a while to shop. I read labels. In addition to other things, I suffer from migraine and have since I was around 12 years old. I tell you, it is a real eye opener when you start reading the ingredients on prepackaged meals, soups, etc. Most are LOADED with preservatives.

The additives, MSG and autolyzed yeast extract are my worse offenders. I also eliminate caffeine, red wine, and eat other known offenders only in moderation (although I LOVE aged cheese and that is apparently a big offfender).

This was all prompted by a migraine neurologist that I saw years go at Hopkins - Dr. Buccholtz. He wrote a book about food additives and migraines. I don't believe everything he preaches but who knows? Maybe, diet is more interwoven with health than we realize.

I have been on this anti-migraine diet for many years... it seems to help me. My husband says it makes him feel better as well, and he has no health problems.

Connection between PN & Migraine

Hmmm, I used to have migraines too--chocolate was my primary offender. I wonder if there's a connection. I also have a lot of allergies--can hardly eat out any more without my nose beginning to run, and I'm sure it's because they add MSG to make the food taste better. When grocery shopping, I always buy organic if its available.
