Default what to do during a flare up

I am experiencing a lot of nerve misfiring now BC I irritated my neck... there's nothing I can really do at the moment right? I'm just curled up in bed

An ice pack on the back of the neck may help.

I use ice packs often for various flares. Ice works well for
carpal tunnel too.

Don't leave it on too long. Too much cold is not good for your
circulation. But 20 minute bursts may help.

thanks! its been going on for 12 hours now.

i love ice. my neck and my pec muscles are the worst.

i stretched and i believe it caused the flare up. do you know if you have neuritis (as opposed to neuropathy) that would show up on a crp test as inflammation? i guess what im suffering from is post injury neuropathy. i hurt my neck really really badly one year ago.

Hi mspennyloafer. I have SFPN. I was in a state of remission almost for 3 years. Last March I had a car accident (whiplash), and jarred my spine pretty bad. I have had a significant exacerbation of PN since. It comes and goes. When I use ice on my spine for 2-3 days I have almost 1-2 weeks painfree. My neuro said that the nerve roots that exit spine have been irritated and it will settle down. When????????
Lord only knows. You are not alone. It really hurts somedays.
All the best and keep using ice.
