Default New member, In pain and buzzing sensation all over

Hello:

I have been having this buzzing/vibrations all over my body. Mostly behind neck, legs and my hands.

All tests are negative so far. Got MRI: cervial, brain lumbar. All clear. EMG and NC came with slight Carpel Tunnel on left hand. Vibrations are bothering me. My B12 is 206. Neuro says normal is from 180 - 800, so mine is normal low. Can you have symptoms at this level taking B12 supplements. Have hypo thryoid also but controlled with meds. Have low BP. I have weird vibrations/shaky feeling most of time. Specailly when I am standing or sitting too long. Supplements /Vitamins not helping.
ANA was positive at 1:160 but all other tests were negative. EMG negative for left side. All tests so far are negative. I have pain where I have vibrations. Pain comes and goes whole day long mostly in leg calf muscle and behind neck. Am curious. Please advice. Ran out of tests to get this resolved. what could this be...

Default Hello simsons !

Just wanted to drop by your thread to say 'hi'
Such a 'fun' mystery this is .... NOT.

Folks here have been a tremendous help and inspiration to me...someone should be along shortly to give some insight....
......I'm not real well versed on the 'logical knowledge'......
just more or less the 'kook' of the bunch....

Hang in there, try to keep your head up!

Caring
Rae

Hi welcome though I am sorry for what you are facing. Is that B 12 level after you started taking the supplement or before? If after your number could of been very low and I think even that number if before is. How long have you been on supplements? It can take a long time for repair. I am not an expert but have been to so many docs trying to find a why behind this. Are you on any meds for the pain? I wish I had more answers. Did you have your blood sugar checked? What about auto immune conditions? When did this start and were you exposed to anything or have you had an injury/accident? In your past did you have any health issues?

ARGH! had a reply typed out and lost it! any way that B12 is dangerously low, especially if that was after supplementation....B12 in a multi will do NO good.....needs to be taken on an empty stomach and in what appears to be VERY large amounts....because only small % is aborbed...if i were in your shoes i would be doing 5000 mcg daily.....good luck

Hi Guys:

This b12 of 206 was before any supplements. I insited and my Dr gave me a B12 shot and have not tested since and am taking 500mcg tabs/day along with multi vitamins and magnesium.

My ANA was 1:160 and sed rate was high normal at 19. No clue what this means. My GP says we will wait and see so does not Neuro. I dont know what to do interim with all these vibrations and pain which is migratory all over. I take motrin for pain and Xanax to help relax muscle and with sleep at night. No improvement. My glucose is fine too.

what else can I get tested for? What is ANA for? I also have hypo thyriod(slight) taking synthroid .50 for years.

Please help!!!

Thanks,
Simsons

Default The ANA--

--stand for anti-nuclear antibody, which is the standard rheumatological test for a number of vascular/connective tissue autoimmune diseases such as Lupus, Bechet's, Sjogren's, Polyarteritis Nodosa, and others. Often the pattern of the antibody as well as its presence can help identify the condition, but this is hardly an exact science, and there are people who don't show any pattern, or a pattern not consonant with many "standard" desciptions of symptoms. And, there are certainly other antibodies that can cause disease besides the ANA, inclduing many neuronal ones that directly attack nerve.

Cycelops on these boards can speak to these in great detail and there is also good info on these at both the Washington University Neuromuscular site:

http://neuromuscular.wustl.edu/over/labdis.html#Ab

http://neuromuscular.wustl.edu/nother/autoantibody.html

http://neuromuscular.wustl.edu/antib...tml#vasculitis

And the Liza Jane spreadsheets, which are also good for suggesting tests and tracking results over time:

www.lizajane.org

And, I agree, that B12 is too low.

You may have multiple things going on, with that ANA present. Have you been tested for celiac/gluten sensitivity? Or toxins?

i repeat....5000 mcg of B12 daily, on an empty stomach!.....not 500 mcg...
and Glenn is correct.....check into celiac/non celiac gluten sensitivity....esp with your addition of hypothyroid......WHAT testing was done for your blood sugar? just fasting? not enough, in fact not worth the powder to blow it to you know where.....fasting insulin, 3-5 hour GTT, etc.....you might try benfotiamine.....good luck

I did get a fasting 2 hour and glucose repeated 2 times. My cholestrol is 300 with bad one in 250. Hypo thryroid with medication for 5 years. No other issue.

Will take b12 5000 mcg. Have weird twitching on and off also in all set of muscles. SPecially legs and arms along with buzzing. Am tired of this and pain now and then. Shaky muscle feeling is v disruptive.

I had gotten a lower GI done 4 years ago with no issues found. How do we test for celiac. My GP says no more tests and neuro is busy for 2 months. Nothing showed on Nerve conduction. But I feel somethign wrong.

Confused I wonder

Is it possible this could be some sort of Circulatory System issue? This 'buzzing/vibrating' feeling you mention.....does it feel like when your feet wake up after falling 'asleep'? That
sorta 'tingling' feeling?

You mentioned low blood pressure and weakness, that's what triggered my questions.

Are your feet cold all the time?

Also, Re: Xanax,....I took that for awhile, and when going off of it, I recall having spasms and very uncomfortable feeling all over..... Not sure what dose you take or how regularly....

Just throwin this out there?

Yes. Buzzing feeling is like after it has gone to sleep... But it is constant in my toes and below my feet. Or in my hands. One place at a time.

My Cholestrol is around 300 total. V bad and has been for long. I am only 38. Intresting you say it is circulatory. I told my endo that and he says vibrations is not from blocked arteries in legs. I still suspect it could be that. Not taking any meds for bad cholestrol levels yet as Creatine Kinase is a little high at 180. BP has been low for as long as I can remember.

Buzzing and pain is random and migratory.
