Default Anyone in Business Administration field?

So, this is my final week in this class and I have a writing assignment that has to be turned in by Sunday. The Real World in Your FieldI have to interview someone who is working in my chosen field. I am pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Here's the question I have to ask. What do you actually do and how does it differ from what you thought you would be doing when you started work? What problems did you have to overcome and what recommendations do you have for someone who is just starting out in this field?

What a great question - hindsight is always the best - you cant beat experience!
I have the chance to study for an MBA next year - not sure with my health problems this is a good idea and I went in to my boss to ask for sponsorship for a masters in education but instead she suggested MBA - business and management theories bore me

Default Always keep in mind? That what is stated you should be responsible for is NOT what IS

I have been an administrator of public support for non-profit business administration development to particular fields, I have also been a benefits administrator in the private sector. Among other things. What ever you THINK is your job? It is NOT what you DO on the day to day basis!
Always keep in mind that 'administrator egos' of those higher than you will always work to either detour of destruct your essential goals job-wise. SHOULD you get support? You are one very very super lucky person!
IF I WERE TO INTERVIEW for an administrative position again? I would on the sly? INTERVIEW the STAFF I am to 'administer'! Why? If one of the staff was an applicant for my position? How much sabotage could happen? Best to know from the outset and work with that 'also-ran' to achieve better skills in the future. Placation, and staff development are key to getting to get folks to work with you and not FOR you. Hope this helps - j

Firstly, may I wish you well and best wishes in your future endeavors

Am i truly qualified to partake in this assignment? Absolutely not

Your Q's:
What do you actually do? : Sit with a laptop utilizing search engines to find cute smilies.

How does it differ from what you thought you would be doing when you started work? I thought I would somehow be making a contribution to society.

What problems did you have to overcome? All of them.

What recommendations do you have for someone who is just starting out in this field? Don't Drink and Drive, Brush and Floss regularly, hug someone daily.

Good Luck Bailey
