My wife and I also hike every weekend. It's almost therapeutic, but sometimes painful in the feet:) Again, thank you for taking the time to post all that. |

And where do I get a fruitcake diagnosis? Is that like a prize you get for seeing the doctor? "Yes you do in fact have PN, congratulations! And here's your complementary fruitcake, have a nice day." I guess I kind of lucked out though. When to urgent care yesterday for really bad inflammation (felt like I was being a big baby), they sent me to the ER. ER doc freaks out, consults a neuro, gets me an appointment for Monday:) |

Thank YOU!!! Don't suppose you've spoken with a neuro about the swelling/marijuana? I've totally stopped and miss the relief. *** My (2nd!!) neuro inspires zero confidence in me and I will be changing again in a couple of months. She "doesn't do pain relief" -- only diagnosis and ??? CB |
MMJ works for some, not for others.
Street variety (not legal around here) - Sativa makes me intensely aware and increases my pain, then makes me hungry then sleepy. Maybe good for evenings or bedtime but not for work-days and working with power tools. Maybe if I had the luxury to try a year's worth of 50 different strains (one a week?) I might find that some Indica may help, but that's a pipe-dream. |
Hi OP I hope your neruo apt went good. I agree with others sometimes with specialists actually most time it takes awhile to get in. I often call every day to see if a cancelation. I hope they run more tests and you get some direction.
rscowboy my 2 neuros did very little with pain control meds/treatment. They would try a med or 2 and if they did not work kind of throw there hands up and why I saw pain doc/anestesolgist for that part. Some of this thread confuses me which is not taking much these days. I guess everyone copes in a different way with health conditions. I have been through a variety of feelings and ways of coping. I guess I am learning it is important to face your feelings and work on ways to have the best life one can in a bad situation. Also staying in the day cause I am worry wort of the future and it does me no good cause I have to get through today. My pain doc tells me on better days do the most you can and on bad days do the best you can. Sending better thoughts to all |

After three years and getting my neuro meds bumped up to where I can't stand the side effects (and I still have plenty of pain anyway), I've now just spoken with my neurologist about a medical MJ card. He said he'll sign for it, and I shouldn't pay one of the clinics the 300 bucks they charge, so I'm going to take him the papers tomorrow. Even though I grew up and went to college in California, I've never used cannabis (and I'm a bit nervous about it). You characterized rightly the way one side worships and the other side demonizes the drug, and there's not much useful information in-between. Your inquiry, though, brought a little useful information in this thread. I'll watch my BP if I go this route. Interesting info is coming out about CBD -- a canniboid that seems to be under-produced by the MJ's that are bred to produce large amounts of THC. CBD isn't psychoactive, or if it is, it tends to counteract THC, and it has anti-cancer, immune-support, and even neuro-protective properties. More info at the washington post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...103231_pf.html). Good luck on your journey. |
Hi and welcome!
I hope you are on your way to relief and to a discovery that will help you! :) Let us know how it is going for you. :) ~DejaVu |
