I never get too hot either, of course I am cold all the time. Mine is a 4" thick topper, I got it at Walmart for around $120, queen size. I love it. I was looking at them in Kohl's, also looking at around $189 there, and this one from Walmart is nicer than any I saw in Kohl's.:D

I bought a pillow top bed, hate it. Put a 2" memory foam on that, it's better. I don't have central a/c it's hot in my room, I don't think the foam is any more than room temp. In the winter it feels coolish when I get in but warms up nicely. I don't have trouble turning or getting in or out.

I think I'll get a foam bed next.

I also use a body pillow, that helps a lot too.

Your mattress question has obviouisly gotten some differences of opinion, so will throw in my two cents:

The best mattress I've ever had is solid foam but not Tempurpedic (did not like it when trying it out in the store) with matching boxspring. Do not "overheat" from it and find it completely comfortable. No problem changing position or getting out of bed.

Happing shopping!:)

I have an update:

We put a second foam topper on my twin sized bed this summer.
It is easier than getting new mattresses out there to the island, and we don't obviously have a way to get rid of the old!

At first it was nice. It WAS difficult rolling over however and by the 3rd week, my back started killing me. I spazed up on my right side severely and so we took the 2nd one off, and within 3 days my back returned to normal. We just put it on one of the guest beds. (Hubby doesn't like it either).

It has been difficult for me in bed since I damaged that tendon in my left leg. When that injury was fresh I couldn't roll over at all! As time passed, and PT showed me moves to make that less painful so rolling over is easier. It is amazing how we take some movements for granted! And how the adductor tendon hooks up to the trunk and pelvis to move the legs etc.
