Default Hi Monica

Welcome to the Forum.

It would help if you could post what sort of Pn you have and what the cause of it was, if you know. There are many different medicationa and vitamins that people with PN take. On top of this forum is an area called "stickies". These are links that you can open that describe various forms of PN, how it presents and ofcourse PN friendly diets, exercise, vitamins, supplements and so forth.

If you can post a bit more oabout your individual circumstances that would be great.

My spanish is very poor, but Buenos Dias to you!

Default Hello Monica,

Bienvenidos! Check out the "Stickies" at
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/showthread.php?t=177 . That is the core of much of our collective wisdom. My postings are on page 2 of the "Stickies" section.

I'm slowly composing a posting on the research support for electrical stimulation to reduce neuropathy pain and increase healing, and will also possibly add a post on buying shoes. My personal "crusade" is mobilizing our spiritual and emotional resources to deal with this PN adventure we share. We need the indominable spirit of Christopher Reeve and Michael J. Fox to not only survive, but to thrive, be happy, and be as healthy as possible with PN, pain and fear notwithstanding.

It's a miracle communicating with you in Ecuador, people in Australia, throughout North America, and Europe. Thank you for posting and joining our group. I hope and trust that we can be of help and support to each other.

Help Lyrica Information, Monica

Welcome Monica, to our place of wisdom, sharing, and caring for one another.

I have been on Lyrica since Spring of 2006, starting slowly at 50mg three times a day and now up to150mg in the morning and evening, and it has done wonders for me. I occasionally have a slight balance problem, but do not experience any tiredness and no brain fog (had that with Neurontin). I also take Tramadol (Ultram) for pain as the Lyrica does not 100% take care of the burning sensations and many vitamins that I have tailored with the help of many here. I also have a home Anodyne therapy unit that I use 4-5 times a week. All of these in combination have made my quality of life 75% better than it was a year ago. I have three granddaughters aged 8, 6, and 4, so I need to be able to enjoy them.

I have seen a huge difference since starting B1, 300-400mg a day on the advice of MrsD. Magnesium helps a lot as does Vitamin B12, the methylcobalamin kind, at 2000mcg a day on an empty stomach. Every one of us has different combinations of prescription medicine, plus vitamins and minerals that work best for them.

More people will be along that are more clinical with information than I am, but wanted to share with you my take on Lyrica.
