But your fasting was not really low. Back in the day, my fasting used to be 70. But not any more! There is an interpretation of low that I have heard. It is the sudden drop that the body perceives as "low" and not the actual number. Someone who normally functions at 130 daily (an older person) can drop to 100 and have some signs of low blood sugar if the drop is sudden. So some of the interpretation may be different for different people. Low sugar occurs in the cells when serum levels are low or when the sugar is high and blocked from entering the cells (insulin resistance). In both cases the cells are starved. This is why acetyl carnitine is good, because it carries fatty acids to the cells to use instead of glucose.
