Default The Day After

I have had house guests for a week. As much as I LOVE seeing family, it gets a bit much, however, while they are here, I usually feel BETTER. It seems the distraction of all the activity makes me forget my pain. Then they all leave, and I am left here alone, and hmmm, then I feel worse. Altho, today, I don't feel as badly as usual. Maybe because I have other distractions.

This morning I awoke to find 12 sandhill cranes in my back yard! Right there, 50 feet from my patio door! Simple pleasures.

Shocked

Isn't distraction wonderful? Glad it helped you. Seeing those cranes must have been a wonderful sight.

Thanks for reminding us about those simple pleasures.

Here's this, too: The other night when I was up around midnight, glanced out the window and standing in the full moonlight were two beautiful antlered deer, just as still as could be. They reminded me of the Great Stag, Bambi's father. I stood watching them, quiet as a mouse, until they jumped the fence back into the woods.

Default What a glorious sight?

THAT must have been! It's such beauty from nature that at times, keeps me anchored. Such wild creatures are honest and have a bit of glory about them? Maybe it's the simplicity of their being.
Such a 'distraction' is a welcome one, for sure.

Uff dah....in my quest to keep myself distracted from pain, I often cause myself to feel more....LATER.

As in....decide I don't like the perch arrangement in my coop and decided to put in closet poles going the length of my coop rather than 1 by 2s going horizontally making it impossible to stand in there......hubby was supposed to help me.....

Well, weeks went by and it didn't get done....til today....

I got 3 poles up....sawed the horizontals off....and cleaned the litter which is a job in itself....phew....

I gotta just sit here and ponder what I did....and where it will hurt tomorrow...not to mention a front is moving in....ahhhh, I can feel my coccyx and sacrum is unhappy....add the hands....feet....

Oh I know Sue... I hurt too, most days but still have enough kick to do these idiotic things now and then.

You will love this story: I have my grandson, as you know. He is teething so every one in the family bought all kinds of fancy teething things....vibrating plastic grapes and strawberries, fancy teething rings, all kinds of things you freeze, meds, oragel....he likes a wet, cold washcloth....yep...the rag. He loves to chew on cool, wet cloth....so, hey, why not. I got him a bunch of microfiber 'rags' which were on sale and they are HIS and he loves them. Of course he gets all wet, but, he drools anyway and it is hot here, so, what the heck. OLD REMEDIES sometimes work very well.

BTW, I got a 4th perch up and the chickens have lots of room and I have room for another new batch in spring, hopefully, we get our own chicks, since they won't accept new ones from elsewhere.....chickens have cliques.
