Topamax caused me to loose 4 months out of my life by causing memory loss
I couldn't retain short-term memory . Couldn't learn, memorize, gain knowledge from experience, remember grand-kids names, keep appointments, etc.
It was terrifying.

Hi nide44, how was topomax for pain relief? I know your on 600mg lyrica. Im a basket case at 200mg lyrica you must be one tough cookie but its still wins hands down when it comes to pain relief.

Both neurontin and lyrica make me a total ditz. I too have lost hunks of my life on meds.

Lyrica is a miracle

When I am on my combo platter of Lyrica and Tramadol, I just deal with minor numbness and the occasional cramp etc.
But...like today, when I didn't get a chance to dose at noon, by 4 this afternoon, both feet were zapping like crazy. I popped one Tramadol and one Lyrica....within an hour....relief.
It is so difficult to accept the neuro mess-up of my feet, but I have total empathy and sympathy for the men and women who are challenged with increased symptoms, and not getting relief.

It helped some, but was supplemented with Neurontin, I wasn't finished titrating to 400mg/day (@25mg per increase). I had to stop at 350mg.
(I was titrating up with topamax, and titrating down with the neurontin)
