I usually get a flu shot & so does my wife. She's in nursing and its mandatory at the hospital. I am in the public and frequently handle money as well as service homes where there are bedridden patients. I also cannot afford to be out sick for any length of time- no sick leave for the self-employed.
Last year they ran out before I could get mine, so I skipped it, but I just went to my local Rite Aid pharmacy on Sat and got one for this year. This is the earliest I've ever gotten a shot-usually I get it in Nov or Dec. But, I've always had a shot every year. Some years I'd feel ill for a day or so, others a sore arm for a day-this year...nothing, so far.

My hubby gets one.

I can't since I am on IVIG and they said it is useless to get one.

And yes, they do 'make' you get one if you work in patient contact.

I am ambivalent about the seasonal flu vac. This Gardasil one, I dunno.

Also, the practice of shooting 10 vaccines into a person at once....not so smart, you think?
