Grin hand surgery

Cyclelops

Good luck I know you were concerned about having this surgery. You should do just fine and be able to use your hand the way you need too. There's nothing like new parts. After this you should be able to type 0 to 60 in less then 7 seconds.

just a quick note...hunt and peck. surgery went well...but it is a notoriously painful surgery...so they say. i concur....after the nerve block wore off it was not good for 8 hours....slightly better now...only hurts when i laugh.

thank u all for the well wishes.

Heart Thank you for that update!

You are one brave warrior!
I hope you have adequate pain meds! I hate it that you must endure the pain part.......and NO CHICKEN JOKES! I will refrain! Do not want to make you laugh if it spurs on the pain!

I remember always having to have my hand elevated when I had surgery on my left hand.....but it was different than your surgery, so I'm not sure what works best for you. I do remember how it would throb if i didn't keep it elevated.

I pray that you have plenty of help around the house
so you can just let yourself reCOUP <<<--- no pun there!

You've got a huge family here caring!

Default Get well wishes

Cyclelops,

Hope that you are doing well after surgery.

I always enjoy reading your posts. Maybe next week you will feel like watching Jason and Grant on Ghost Hunters.

Get a lot of rest. We need your optimistic and humorous writings on this site.

Take Care.

Question

I hope your pain is less today, Cyclelops.... I can only imagine!

I've had my share of hand pain... starting at age 5 when my Dad accidently closed the door of the car on my right hand. The tips of the middle two fingers were smashed up to the first knuckle.
There are so many nerves in the hands... I can only imagine surgery there! (this is perhaps why I am having stiffness now in the same finger?)

I remember it to this day, and I recall crying alot at school too. Enough for the teacher to call my parents in for a conference!
(they never took me to a doctor for it).

So I hope you are in less pain today!

pardon my lack of caps! i am doing ok....and yes...there are a lot of nerves in the hand...it was way more painful than i anticipated. the anesthesia team is tring to figure out how to best handle this for patients. if i do my other hand, i will stay the nite and get iv drugs. percocette sucked for this. this is more of a morphine type thing...it is bad and they know it is bad. i hope it is worth it. but, i do think they should have been more upfront that it hurts this bad, i would have had the foley catheter put in and spent the nite.

it is getting better fast tho.

well thanks to all...and yes...i hear you mrsd...my folks would not have taken me to the doc either.

gonna get up and dressed today.
