Default glenn/mrsD et al

ok, minimal info here.....older middlge aged male. works on engines (assuming automobile) with history of what appears to be ascending muscle/strength loss....presently concerned about vision....has been to Mayo, no apparent help there......?Vit B12 def, toxic exposure in the work place????Vit D def?

Yes, toxic possibility for sure. Should get heavy metal testing.

B12 also because of the vision loss. Vit D if he does not go outside much. Testing for both of these is easy...Mayo did not do that?

I dont know, this is a friend of a friend situation.....what is it called when you have central affects from B12 def.?....MY brain isnt at full function, lol.
i will pass on to friend...hopefully he will pass on.....

Default I believe the term--

--is subacute combined degeneration.

B12 deficiency is one of the most common causes of this, but other conditions, including toxic attack, can result in it as well.
