Lightbulb The Empowered Patient:

Here is a link to an interesting story on CNN which will air both Saturday and Sunday.

The book came out in Aug 2010.
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread134155.html

Those of us on this forum have learned over time that being an empowered patient is a valuable concept when dealing with PN.

Default I've been seeing her interviews and her story... it's compelling....

And,thanks! Mrs D for bringing this up.
I've found it at: http://www.amazon.com/Empowered-Pati...5973767&sr=1-1 For $10 and that's a good price.
HOW TO GET THE RIGHT DIAGNOSIS! Isn't that what we all struggle to get?
Just read some is what is available of the text on-line...and it is all sound, clearly written and in line with what soo many of us have experienced....
Of course, diagnosis is not ever an ideal or totally clear cut thing! Unfortunately, many of us get the go-around or run-around too many times. That and the fact that we are not hot house flowers living in pristeen atmospheres.

Default

I have been runaround so much my tail is down my throat..... (note the flies)

I am getting the inclination to be the snide, sarcastic, witchy patient...being nice but assertive doesn't work. I did wear my large fake diamond solitare to my last appointment and the doc was real nice...I guess he figured I could afford a good lawyer.

I figure when I present to the clinic in a stretcher comatose, they may get it.
