Question I have a nerve ? and can't find any answers

Does anyone know if a nerve, in my case the nerve I am worried about is my right peroneal. It did not have any response to sensory or motor stimulation on the nerve conduction study. Does that mean the nerve has died? My other nerves had alot of problems to, but I don't know if it can regenerate when it has gotten to the point of having no responses. Thanks for the help!

What was your diagnosis? Have you been tested for an inherited neuropathy?

I have not been tested for a hereditary neuropathy. but he is not ruling it out at this time. My diagnosis at this point is idiopathic sensory-motor peripheral neuropathy with demyelinating and axonal features. I really want to know what the cause is, but as I read here it appears alot of sometimes they never find the cause. It's only been 3 months since I received the diagnosis. But I have had some mild tingling and other odd sensations for a couple of years but mainly in the right foot. Over the last 5 to 6 months it has progessed to my left foot as well with weakness in both legs.
Thanks for asking Kitt

DNA blood testing might be in order. Just a thought. Hope you find an answer.
