I have used this, in moderation, and I find it helps with burning pain.
It has never helped with muscle spasms tho. Search it here on this forum.

Well I always noticed less severity when I take my medicine for chronic allergies and sinus etc.. Stuff.
Mrs D websites say 90 mg is effective. How can I get so many mg over the counter. How much dosage did you take. Thankyou |

The highest dose in a 24 hr period I used when I had a severe lung viral infection over 2 yrs ago was 80mg total per day.
Dextromethorphan is being somewhat controlled by most states for purchase due to abuse by young people. The average dose / tablet in a cough product is 20mg/tab. I don't advocate you take more than that/per dose. Anything higher becomes dangerous and requires medical supervision. Dextromethorphan has been used in studies for post operative pain control. But Nide here, was offered it once and it did NOT work for him. It will do nothing for muscle spasms that I know of. So if you try it don't exceed the directions on the package that you purchase!

Guiafenisen is used for fibro, supposedly breaks up the knots....and it DID work to break up my knots. (this was many years ago, and I took pills).

Dextromethorphan will interact with SSRI and SNRI medications.
Also do not take with MAOI drugs. Examples: Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro, etc and Cymbalta and Effexor, etc. Too much DM can also cause dizziness and mentally altered states, and confusion. I believe that guaifenesin has been de-listed for fibro, and is not recommended any more.
