Default Need help for a friend

I am new here and while I do have neuropathy I am deeply concerned about a friend out east. He is in scary horrible shape and does have a neuropathy diagosis. At his recent GP appointment the doc just threw more pain pills at him. He also has Sjogrens. He says his fingers curl up, a mind of their own waking him and he has burning up into his arms. He said when he eats his mouth is dry goo. He is scared and is afraid to go to ER as he said they will throw away the key.

He is in the Pittsburg area. Can any of you message me privately with a recommended medical center that is good and or a doc.

Hi. I am sorry about your friend. Has he seen a pain management doctor? What about a neurologist? For me all the internists I have seen have been clueless in terms of treatment. I know others here have had better luck here. I don't know a doctor off hand in that area. I will say my best pain management doctor who was better then major places like Cleveland Clinic was at a teaching hospital. I got that suggestion from here. I did not see a student but the director. I would see if he has a teaching hospital in his area and call the dept he is looking for and explain a little of what he is looking for. You are a good friend to care so much

I am seen at a teaching hosptial. For me it can be good and bad. But the good has been very good. It took my great internist there to refer me to another breathing doc but he is the reason I am getting treated at all now by neurology as the new neuromuscle person is really poor.

i think he needs a thorough nutritional assessment. I would guess he may need B12 and magnesium at minimum (supplements)
