Tongue Lyrica to cymbalta

I have been on 150 mg Lyrica for two years and am beginning to have some side effects (edema). My doctor suggested changing to Cymbalta. Does anyone have any experience to share with me about this. Or about how useful Cymbalta has been or not been with your neuropathic pain. I have sfn. Thanks!

I'm currently taking 300 mg of Lyrica 2x a day and 30 mg of Cymbalta 2x a day. They seem to help me at least to a degree. I've always felt like sometimes you need to switch meds because those you've been taking for a while seem to lose their effectivness. This combination works for me. You may well be different. I'm of the opinion that if it could help it's certainly worth a try. Best of luck to all of us.

Hi. I could not tolerate Lyrica but am on Cymbalta. I am now on 60 but was on 120 for awhile. I added some other meds so took down the Cymbalta cause I can't say it helps. Everyone is different though so you may get relief. The only issue was for about 2 weeks whe I first started I was so nauseous. I took it at dinner and started at 30 and then increased slowly to help with the nauseous feeling. I guess that can be a common side effect.

I've been on 60mg of Cymbalta since Feb. It helped a lot at first but the pain has been getting worse. My doc added 75mg Lyrica to the Cymbalta. Helped a little. I went to see some docs at Johns Hopkins and they increased my Lyrica to 300mg. I lasted about 2 weeks at that dosage. The side effects of confusion made me non-functional. The docs told me to stop the Lyrica, which I had. I stopped Cymbalta also just to see if it was working at all. I was in tears the pain was so bad, so started Cymbalta again. It does work.

I was on cymbalta for a short time. It didn't work at all. Now I am on 200mg of Lyrica and 1500mg of Neurotin. It seems to work better but it seems like they have to increase the Lyrica every 2 weeks.
