Default Question for "Mrs. D" regarding safety of taking R-Lipoic Acid with Mercury fillings

Dear Mrs D:

In recent years I have taken several courses of both Alpha Lipoic Acid and R-Lipoic Acid at a dosage of 600mg daily (each at different times).

I also have some very old fillings in my mouth (30+ years).

The doctor who suggested the ALA told me not to worry about the ALA leaching Mercury from my fillings and into my body because the fillings do not make contact with the bloodstream.

Could I please get your thoughts on the safety of using these substances if one still has Mercury fillings.

Thank you very much!

David

I am very much on the fence about mercury. The dental community is very complicated... there is also controversy about root canals.!

I really can't comment on this subject with any definite opinion.
Sorry.
