Default Lyrica tolerance/dosage

I'm taking 300 mg. of Lyrica a day. I started at 150 mg. and increased by 25 mg. a week over a few months. Thing is, I've never gotten more than a weeks relief from it at a time. That is why I've had to increase it each week. Now I'm at 300 mg. and after one week at that dosage, I again need to increase it. I know I can only go to 600 mg. At that rate, I only have 3 months left before I can't increase dosage anymore.

This worries me greatly. I hope the pain Dr. I'm supposed to see next month will have a better plan for me.

Has anyone found that they built a tolerance so quickly to Lyrica? My Dr. acts like he has never see this before, am I the only one?

Rose, I went from 150 to 300 quickly and now hit the wall. plenty on 600 with pain. Your not alone so have a look at the nortriptyline thread for some ideas that may help.

Sorry to hear that Rose!

I've been on 300mg of Lyrica now for about one year but don't want to increase the dose as I feel too zombied. I take my whole dose at night, a couple of hours before bed as I can't walk a straight line once it cuts in.

I can only ever hope to have about 30% relief with it, so the Tramadol and other pain killers are needing to increase sadly.

I take Lyrica 600mgs/day in 3 divided doses
(along with 400 mgs/day Tramadol/Ultram in 4 divided doses)

and function quite normally, work a 8-10 hr day, 6 days/week.
My pain levels were at 7-9 and on Lyrica are down to 1-3
(with spikes of 5-6 at times)
.
Quite tolerable & even unnoticeable, at times.

I saw my new pain management Dr. on Friday and she want me to get up to 600 mg. asap to see if it will work. Then if not, she's going to try something else. I hope the 600 mg. works.
