Red face

Thank you...

I am hoping for a negative test. But I do have the Epstein Barr mono history... too. (thought to be a trigger). I am worried about the contrast dye... and reactions. I had a major reaction to the dye used for IVP years ago.

I have to call tomorrow for the testing appt. Also deal with the availability of Glumetza... I have the lot # and will call the company back to see if it is one of the recalled ones.

I think I'm fortunate to have a PCP who shares our disdain for big pharma (or drug companies in general). You should hear him when he's on a tear - it's a real hoot.

Well, Jan 6th, it is.... and neither place wants to do the premedication.

I had to call the doctor back to get that done before Thursday morning. (she is not in today... receptionist is calling her at home.).

The hospital also wants a full list OTC and RX of everything I take! LOL... It will take me a while to type all that up!

Also, the Glumetza lot number is not in the recall... so I am clear to get those filled. Will do that tomorrow.

I thought that was pretty SOP nowadays. We did that a few years ago on EXCEL, and now we just update it the night before an appointment and print off another hardcopy... Most of our docs are on the same computer system (which I can now access for my own records - cool) anyway, so they all have my list at their fingertips, and I give them an update when I go in...

I used to have that in excel, but I had a major crash and had a snit-fit and went to a mac-mini. Am in the process of trying to convert files 'on the fly' as I need them- in Open Office. Nobody shares/uses that program. Gotta re-save in another format.
I don't want to use Windows for Mac (if I can avoid it), as it seems there is a vulnerability to viruses getting in the back door with that pgm., that normally a Mac wouldn't have to worry about. That's why I went to Mac - I was fed up with viruses, malware and crashes in Windows pgms.

I have run into a major snag....

My doctor wants the CT radiologists to premedicate me.
They say that the doctor ordering the test is to do it.

Neither will do it. So today I am a soccer ball being kicked back and forth, over this stupid issue. GOD I HATE DOCTORS!

What makes this totally worse? My beloved Tippy my second oldest cat, had a stroke today, right in the middle of this problem.

Hubby and I had to rush her up to the vet around noon and the prognosis was a stroke in the spine. Since she was so old...17, the vet suggested euthanasia... so now my lovely Tippy is gone!
There was a slim chance at a specialist...clot busting drugs for over $1000 dollars or more, but in a frail old cat.. not a likely success. I am still upset about this. No warning, except she never adjusted to Sheba being gone. Tippy was getting frailer by the day.

I am just not up for this. sorry. The vet was so much better than my own doctor... something very wrong here!

Ok, the onus for this shouldn't be on you. I'd tell them to figure it out and call you when they do. (Honestly, I've been in similar situations, and that's exactly what I did.)

You did the right thing here. Been through it both ways (sudden & declining) - they both suck. Have a cry, eat some chocolate, hug the family (not necessarily in that order...)

sorry to hear about your cat.

I hate doctors also except for a very few. If people acted with the arrogance, immaturity and laziness of doctors in their own jobs they would be unemployed forthwith. I hope it is all sorted out asap. This is absolute bs to put you through this turf war with all the rest that you have on your plate right now.
