Oh Mrs D, it is so unfair to lose another cat so soon after Sheba, but you are right she probably missed her so. You are in my thoughts , take good care of yourself and good luck with the Medical footballers this week.

Heart Oh my..... :(

MrsD I am so VERY sorry about all this! Leaves a person speechless!

I absolutely HATE the 'attitude' I get when I have to rattle off my list of 'meds' at the Dr office.......they seem just hoity toity FINE with me as I name all the big Pharma cr@p.... but LORD LOOK OUT when I mention any natural supplements!
I get the 'lecture' about how they are not FDA approved blah blah blah....... and it's usually a 20-something year old 'snip' looking down her nose at this FORTY-something 'been-around-the-block' lady
What am i gonna do? ARGUE?! Yeah, and then get flagged as a 'problem patient'
........well, I have a great idea of where they can STICK their FLAG!

......anyway, you've been on my heart all day, and I'll continue lifting you up in prayer. You've got so many people pullin for ya.

Thank you for the updates! You care enuf about us to know how much WE care about YOU!

Frown

Well, the radiology dept at the hospital faxed the recipe for the premed to my doctor's office.

I'll call there later this morning to find out if my doctor will do it.

In the meantime I called Basha diagnostics who did my mammogram and ultrasound of the neck, (my doctor wanted me to go the hospital for this CAT scan tho) and the radiologist there was very nice and he said they give the premeds IV before the dye..right there no problem. He was horrified about my predicament, and I am likely going to get it done there. He said with history of only hives from the Iodine IVP dye, I should be okay. The hospital is only 2 blocks away in any event.
I have to bring a driver, as they won't let me drive after. So hubby is going to take me. One of the drugs is IV Benadryl and he said it would really make me woozy. The other is high dose steroid like Prednisone. So I will probably get it done there.. and pffffft to my doctor! If it comes out positive I'll get referred to a biopsy place anyway, and she will be out of the picture from then on.

I cried so much and had so much nose blowing today over Tippy that my neck seems less obvious now as I type. May they went down? Or I am just deluding myself? I took a Tramadol tonight my eyes hurt so badly! It seems to have taken an edge off my grief a little.

Losing two old "friends" this way in 2 months has been painful.
They were both very attached to us and responsive, almost like children. Both Tippy and Sheba would spend the whole day with me. Tippy right next to the computer monitor in fact on her warming pads!

I put up a cute portrait of hubby with both of them on our dock from 2007. It is in my profile album. You know with superstitions about death in 3's... I am now worried about who will be next? I am trying not to think about that one!
If something happened to my hubby my life would be totally over!

This seemingly routine thing, has turned into an emotional nightmare... so far 2011 is not looking so wonderful for us!

FWIW, I would think that kind of cocktail would/should minimize any allergic reaction anyway.

Tongue

The oral premed cocktail is Prednisone 50mg 3 times before the test at certain times and 50mg of Benadryl 1 hr before.

So the IV is similar only the dosing would be different, and it is given a few minutes before the dye.

I called the doctor and told them I am going to Basha.
I also cancelled out the hospital.

I'll try for early next week for the Cat Scan then.
I can't really face it this week, with all the stress of losing Tippy.
