My neuro's office called to let me know that one of the tests was elevated - CA19-9. Paraneoplasic test is still pending.
He also did a CEA - ok and a CA125 - ok CA19-9 was 56 should be 37 or below. Can detect GI cancers (pancreatic, colon, liver) and benign conditions such as Gallstones, not aware that I have, but hoping I do because it is the best alternative. Neuro now wants me to go to a GI doc. to be on the safe side. I'll probably need a tube stuck down one end and up the other. Needless to say I am a wreck! I hit the internet, what's odd is CEA & CA125 also check for same cancers as CA19-9 (along with others) why would only one be elevated. I am so praying for a false positive or gallstones. Any insight would be appreciated. Happy New Year (NOT!) |
