I received by mail an advertisement for a product called: PhysAssist Foot Pain Cream. I went to their website & found the main ingredient to be 0.9% menthol. Anyone heard of this or tried it?

i havent tried any branded cream, but my reflexologist uses a basic cream blended with peppermint essential oil to calm down the hotness, its very refreshing and feels soothing
i believe the cream you reffering can cause the same menthol effect.
This winter my foot its been icy-cold , and we're mixing the cream blending ginger essential oil, its been really efficient, also i feel my circulation improved, it keep my foot really warm.
at home i use a cream of lavender to help with my pain. I am a big fan of aromatherapy. it is absolutely wonderful the benefits i've been experience with the treatment, oils can be magic!
We Pners just must be very careful with creams because can burn our skin, as generaly our feet gets numbness. Maybe the cream you mention can be good, is it expensive? Im also curious to know with our friends have knowledge about it

The Biofreeze I and some others use has 3.5% menthol.

It is in a special gel which really penetrates and works.

The new Precise cream by Tylenol company, has 9% menthol and does NOTHING for me....

I think the special non greasy gel is the secret of Biofreeze.
It also has Ilex extract in it which is a powerful anti-oxidant.
(Ilex is also called Yerba Mate ..a popular tea like drink in S.America.)

It once was only available from Chiros and PTs, but now you can buy it easily. Amazon has it and many other places on the net very reasonably priced.

1-Doesn't say where they are, or where the product is made....
2-$20 Bucks + s&h? Rich price for the small 2oz container.

I've not tried the products endorsed by others? But, IF I were you've got first-hand experiences here recommending less expensive products.
IF you are expecting a lotion or cream to deaden the pain? Don't expect that. Ask your doctors about Lidoderm Patches. You can cut them into smaller patches until you get the size and shape that fits your needs.
I've found w/the patches [btw? They're expensive w/o insurance!] that too much can totally deaden your feet to the point you cannot feel them AT ALL! Soo, caution is urged.
The creams and such only help on the surface, and only for a while... I've found little that kills the deeper nerve pains other than sleep. Or, meds that make one a zombie.
Ultimately? All trial and error finding what works for YOU!

I use Biofreeze gel most of the time but when my feet are really on fire, I use an expensive rx called, "prudoxin" which is generic for Zonalon 5%. My podiatrist rx'd it and although it's used primarily for atopic dermatitis, it works wonderfully for PN. I try to use it sparingly since it's pricey, but worth the $$ when you're about to tear your hair out from the burning.
