My pain doctor wants me to try Albuterol 4 mg tablets (1/day) for a month to see if it helps with the awful burning in my feet, especially the heels, arches and balls. Has anyone tried this and did you get any help from it? Thanks so much.

I could only find one link to a PN connection and it was for autonomic (hypotension) PN:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...0/?tool=pubmed Have you tried Biofreeze on that burning? It works very well. While your proposed dose is low, albuterol used systemically may raise blood pressure. This is the first time I have seen this offered to a PN patient.

mrsD,
Biofreeze will not touch this severe burning, especially in the heels. I have been using Lidoderm patches directly on the heels along with soaking in Epsom salts and then some Capzasin and that seems to be helping a little. I've been doing this daily for about 3 weeks. Walking has become very difficult since we initially touch with the heels. My blood pressure has always been quite low so I don't think that will be an issue when trying the Albuterol. However, I will check it once in a while to make sure it is still ok. I'll let you know if the feet feel any different with the Albuterol and if any other side effects pop up. |

Native American Indians supposedly walked toe-heel for stealth.
It can be learned, atho it is not the relief you are looking for. I use Icy Hot and ice packs, for my burning feet (along with tramadol 400mgs/day & Lyrica 600mgs/day)
