A double shot of good single malt, sipped on an empty stomach. My feet still hurt, but somehow that mild pain is not as important as it was before with the mild buzz and lovely aftertaste.

A double shot (or two beers) several times a week is a bright line in the sand that I don't cross. Been doing this for about 25 years now. It's one of life's little pleasures I'm thankful for and don't dare abuse.

This forum's been justifiably pretty heavy the past few weeks. I hope to add some lightness ocassionally for balance. Life, even with serious PN pain and a pesimistic prognosis, can have play and lightness, humor and love. That kept me going the early horrible years with PN.

I didn't know that ethanol has that effect.

The side effects of alcohol abuse are well known and devastating, especially for those of us living with nerve damage. Moderation is the key with so many things. For diabetics and alcoholics, moderation with alcohol is probably none at all.

The good news is while the nerve damage occurs, you won't feel the pain :P

I've never drank alcohol by the way.

What a disappointment!!! I just knew you had researched out the fact that I could have scotch and be cured. Was looking forward to a Johnny Walker Red. No way I'll drink anything with my ulcer and PN. Maybe someone can research out this idea and find us a Scotch or Iced Vodka cure.
