It is a lumbar puncture to check my spinal fluid for autoimmune problems.
I am not sure what autoimmune problems are seen in spinal fluid.
Tests I have had done to this point is blood work, b12, folate, protien,
protien elecritrophm, sedimation rate, hemoglobin glycosylated, and methylmal acid. I know he was testing for diabtic, thyroid problems, vitamin defiencies, arthritis ect. All labs came back normal.
I had a nerve conductions study done, that showed damage involving the myelin and axons. Affecting the peroneal, sural, and tibal nerve in both legs. It showed slow conduction velocity, and prolonged distal latencies, also all my F-waves were prolonged with the right peroneal absent. The emg the needle part of the test was normal. My CMAP and my SNAP were normal exept for the peroneal nerve. He thinks it is a systemic problem.
