Thanks, mrsD.

What do you make of that high B6 result?

B6 = 634.4 nmol/L

mrsD 07-16-2011 02:02 PM

I wonder why it is in nmol? That is an nonUS typical report function.
Different labs can have different ranges, but yours seems very high and not likely do to that.

5-30 ng/ml or 20-121 nmol/L

So yes yours is high.

As the doctor for a retest to see if it is a lab error. If the red cells rupture and dump contents into the serum, a factitious high may result. This often happens with potassium.

Also look at everything you take, and see how much B6 you are getting and cut that back to RDA levels for a while.

Some people do have elevated levels, but it is not common.
There have been studies on autistic children showing high B6 when no vitamins were taken. This suggests that they have some metabolic error in processing it or excreting it.

I think you should retest in 3-6 months. This could be a lab error.

Make double sure it is not a B12 result... they are right next to each other on lists sometimes.

Nervous 07-16-2011 02:07 PM

My B6 supplement intake is as follows:

--35 mg in my multi-vitamin

--50 mg in my B-50 B Complex, but I do not take this every day.

The test was not done as a "fasting" test. It was done in the afternoon on a normal day.

I think it must be a lab error, too. I'll run it by the guy I'm seeing this week. Maybe he'll want to redo it.

Thanks.

It's not a B12. The B12 was on another page in this report.

Thyroid Update:

2010
TSH: 1.55
Free T4: 1.76

2011
TSH: 2.54
Free T4: 0.93

This is evidence to me that my thyroid function is getting worse, but my doctor is saying that I don't have hypothyroidism because my results are within, or very near, the normal range.

Should I stay on this and get another opinion?

Some doctors go by tests religiously and discount the patient quite a bit.

Other doctors listen to patients, and will try to help with symptoms. The major symptom that the doctors that believe in Wilson's syndrome is waking morning temperature. If that is low then they will treat irregardless of the testing.

You can take your temperature before getting out of bed and see if you meet the criteria. Then find a doctor who treats Wilson's syndrome. Just search "body temperature Wilson's syndrome" on Google.

Bad foot cramping this week. Can't understand why. Am taking plenty of magnesium. Using Epsom Lotion, too.

Is there anything else?
