I quite walking several years ago as I paid too big a price for the over the top pain it would cause and especially that night or the next day.
I would like to try it again, but want to find a great walking shoe that has a soft inner lining that will help as regular tennis shoes will not work. In fact I live in Houston, Tx and wear my crocs everywhere I go except for business. They are the only thing I have found that feel good on my feet. I am open for suggestions! |

I wear 2 different styles of Birkenstock sandals(The "Mayari" and "Cozumel") just about all year long. They are very comfortable, and the best part is the "Toe loop" for the big toe. You don't have to hold on to the the foot part with your toes as you walk. When I first get them, they're a little stiff but then after breaking them in, I can walk like a normal person. In winter I have a different style without the toe loop which I wear around the house with socks.

New Balance walking shoes with velcro loops.
They have 3 or 4 different stylas (& prices). I replace the insole with full gel insole and a foam cushion innersole on top of that. I also like the Dr Scholl's walking shoes with velcro. I replace the innersoles in them too. Both are big in the toe area and I wear one size larger with comfy diabetic type socks.

I have not, but with all the hype, testimonials, etc. I can't help but be reminded of when earth shoes first came out....

Fit flops are really good for me, they are expanding their range every season so you should find something suitable-they are like walking on air. I have the Goghs which are a cross between a croc shoe and an ugg boot in suede- my fashion conscious 14 yr old is mortified to be seen with me wearing them teehee. Well we can't all teeter about in killer heels like her......

Not as an athlethic shoe, but I'm still working on the same pair of Skechers I've had for five years now, and the only shoes I wear outside the house. They're wearing like iron, still look good with a leather wipe, and feel the same inside as the expensive (but crappy) medical shoes I was looking at.
