Hello mrsD,
I'm not taking the Rx version.otc version. So then I need to take 3 a day every day. My D-400 and my calcium is 600. So I calculate that I should take both of them 3 x a day to get 3000IU. I tryed the Lidoderm patches with and it didn't help. I do however have the skin burning going on in my legs, hips, back and groin. That is why doc G has me on Lyrica. This is helping to some degree, but my legs feel like I ran a 1000 mile marathon everyday. My legs feel like they can't hold me up and my back is the same. I can only hold my head up for 2-4 hrs a day because of the neck surgery. I loose feeling in my feet alot and my hands.I will ask Doc G about the B12 and A1C report. My nerve pain is due to the herniation @ S1-L5. Yikes ! It also effects my feeling in my feet and groin area and going to the bathroom. Gee, I feel old ! lol Thanks again for responding to my post.

It is not recommended to take alot of calcium when you take high dose Vit D. It would be best to get another capsule of plain Vit D without calcium, and use it alone. You can buy 1000IU or 2000IU easily today. Vit D improves calcium absorption, and the max recommended now by some doctors for their patients on Vit D supplements is 600mg a day. When you buy things mixed with other things it is not easy and sometimes not good for everything in the mix when you only need one thing increased.

Failure with Lidoderm patches is often due to putting them in the wrong place. Where did you put them?

I have a thread here on placement:

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...light=lidoderm
There is a link on that thread to a place with a 3D nerve diagram which can be very helpful to locate spots to put the patches.
