Default Alpha Lipoic Acid

I have been taking Alpha Lipoic Acid 600mg daily. This was prescribed by my neuro at Cleveland. I think several here have posted that the R lipoic acid is a better choice than the alpha lipoic acid. I have not been able to find the rLipoic acid locally in any of the drugstores or health food stores so I went on-line and found many choices. A lot of the information I have found reveals that there are many other ingredients in the capsules. Does anyone have a particular brand that they recommend? Thanks for your input.

I don't think you will find a local store unless it is a mega large health food place.

You CAN get this on Amazon! I just did with free shipping (combined with another purchase). Source naturals brand.

Iherb has it too. I've used Source Naturals (tablet form), Country Life and Doctor's Best. All are affordable.

The major companies are now making it. Source Naturals is handy if you want to break a dose in half, since it is a tablet.

Start at 100mg a day, and maybe work up to 200 if you need it.
Estimates are that r-lipoic is more potent than the alpha form.
(up to 6 times more potent).
