Default Trouble with IV..Any suggestions

Today I had an iron infusion and next week I am trying 4 days of IVIG 4 hrs a day. They put the IV in my hand because the best vain was there. My hand went into such a flare up and now my whole arm is bad. I am so dreading next week. I was crying by the end of the infusion! I think I would have tolerated it better if they did it inside elbow area...I was dx recently with small fiber nueropathy and I believe I also have RSD although many docs disagree.

Thanks for any suggestions

Debbie

Iron infusions are quite painful for most people. It might just be the iron procedure itself. They are usually not done unless it is a last resort for this reason.

Here is a monograph example:

I would discuss this with your doctor... it is possible the reactions you are having may be treatable.

Default TY

Thanks for the info...I think it was just the irritation from the IV..I am not going to let them use my right hand again!.....So upsetting- I got ferriten infusion which has to do with iron saturation levels.
