Hi! I am new to this forum I was assessed yesterday with am emg, NC test, and tuning fork. I passed all of these assessments very well. He said I don't have large or small fiber Neuropathy. I am just concerned because I have tingling and burning in my feet, thighs, hands, and just tingling in the face. My foot tinglings started about 8 weeks ago and the rest has followed. I am just concerned if it is true I don't have it or not. I need some of your experienced opinions. I am being referred for a mri of my brian. I have already had one of my lumbar region. Thanks for your help!

Hi. Did anything happen 8 weeks ago? Did you have an injury, fall, were sick etc? Anything in your past you can think of that may be impacting your health now? Well my 1st set of emg/nc did not show PN. Then it was repeated a few months later and then I was dx with PN. I agree you should get an mri. Also have you had blood work testing your b12,diabetes,auto immune etc? I encourage you to ask for a complete blood work. What type of doctor are you seeing? I hope you get some answers and relief.

Infection is a possibility. The body makes antibodies, and inflammatory cytokines, which can impact nerves and/or the myelin lining the axons of the nerves.
Infection in bone is very serious...Very strong drugs are used for it --sometimes IV drugs.

Thank you for all your responses. Teacherfeet, I am glad to meet a fellow teacher. What grade do you teach? I teach first grade. I need to keep working to support my family. It is all very overwhelming. How are you handling it all. Yes, I know an infection can be very serious if it is in the bone. I am very nervous about the whole thing. Can they get rid of it and then the nerves will stop being damaged?
