I have DX of PN. My pain is predominately in abdomen and waist. My pain PA suggests getting a spinal cortisone injection. Anyone ever have one and did it help with pain?

--your have a radiculopathy--a category of neuropathy that involves compression or compromise of the spinal nerve roots; otherwise it's unlikely anyone would be recommending a SPINAL cortisone injection.
Do you know at what spinal level they are suggesting the injection? Abdomen and waist suggest lower thoracic or upper lumbar spine areas. The efficacy of such an injection may well depend on it being placed at the right level to effect the area pain is generated from (I would certainly suggest getting it done under floroscopy). Do you have any imaging reports that you can tell us about? |
