The one unsuccessful trial is enough for me. I will not to another trial. The main reason these things are difficult to remove is because of the scar tissue building up around the leads. Also, frequently the reason they do no work as well as the trail after a few months. Too often the leads near the spinal column get moved because of the scar build up. The battery can be placed in several places; but needs to be where there is enough to hold it. Usually, the butt. Although many men have it placed in the back above their waist. I feel the chances are too risky of adding more pain with little, if any, results. I j fedl not enough is mentioned about the problems that are caused because of scar tissue moving the leads, etc. No SCS for me.

Success story here!
Hello Zorrro13
For 6 yrs I battled unrelenting burning in both legs (especially around the knees) I was finally diagnosed with SFN and after 2 yrs of dragging my feet, I went with the SCS. For me, it works wonders in covering over the pain (level 7-8). I find that the stimulation provides a very soothing sensation. A choice I don't regret making, but as the others here have stated, much thought needs to be put in to it. Getting the SCS is a very individualized modality, thus the diverse testimonials. Getting the trial procedure will give you a good idea if this would be right for you. Though I am happy with my unit, I give even more credit to the Supplements and other tips offered here in helping to get the PN under some sort of 'control' The SCS is in no way a 'cure', but it sure has brought welcome relief in my case. Good luck in whatever you decide to do. Here is a good information reference to the SCS... http://www.nationalpainfoundation.or...e-technologies Rae |
Glad you have had success. That is good to hear. The doctor told me up front, the most I could expect would be 50%. I would have gladly taken that. He told me I woud still need pain meds; but would most likely be able lessen the quantity. I would have been happy with that; but I am not up to another trial.
