Hi! I take 1800 mg of Gaba a day. Is this considered a high dose? I don't take any other meds. I feel like it needs to be increased, but not sure. I notice that I am losing more hair than usual. Not sure if that is a side effect. Thanks!

You maybe able to increase, but only with your docs approval. I was on it for a while, don't remember increased hair loss.

I'm on 3600mg per day... that's supposed to be the max... but I hear that it can go a bit higher if needed...

--who've gone up to 4200-4800mg/day range, and one outlier with Central Pain who continued to get a small increasing amount of relief up to 7200mg/day, and who somehow seemed to shrug off most of the side effects one would anticipate would occur at that high a dose.
Even at lower doses, Gabapentin dosage increases do not tend to have a direct arithmetic added effect--people notice more of an increased effect say, going from 600-1200mg than from 2400-3000mg. But the response is very individual. |

I would wonder if at those high doses, much is getting absorbed.
Gabapentin's absorption goes down with increased doses as a rule.
