I've read here and on some reliable web sites how hypothoidism effects the nervous system resulting in sensory-motor PN. My question is how long after the toxicity has been resolved will improvement start? I had over 2 years of extreme hyperthyroidism, then thyroidectomy with problems getting up to a normal range, low for months. Nov 2010 started 3 months of a TSH of 20 and I was very sick. This is when I started to show my motor neuropathy symptoms. My blood levels normalized mid Jan. this year, first time since Jan. 2008. I mean, do you get better as soon as the levels normalize, or is the damage going to take a while to resolve?
I see a neuromuscular doc who says I am a bit stronger, but I do not feel I am making any improvement. I am starting to think her herpes zoster involvement is "hinky." I am just disgusted today, not self pity, just frustrated and missing my old life. ![]() |
