Question Retinoic acid?

Hi everyone, just wanted to show you this. You could perhaps help me understand what it means.
When on prednisone i had severe acne flares in my face, back, chest, soulders and even in my arms (close to my elbows). I no longer take prednisone but, as i have mentioned before, i still suffer from acne. I was prescribed topical retinoic acid by a dermatologist for acne. She said it was not necessary to take oral retinoids and that topical retinoic acid wouldn’t affect my neuropathy. Being skeptical i decided to figure it out myself and i googled “topical retinoic acid neuropathy”. I was surprised to find many articles that explained that topical retinods could prevent neuropathy in people suffering from diabetes. I found articles that explained how topical retinoids helped in ulcer healing.
I came across this particular article that is named “Methods of treating neuropathic pain with retinoic acid receptor agonists”. I didn’t understand much (it is written very technically, using chemical formulas) but i kind of understood that giving some drug that made skin more sensitive to retinoic acid could help in neuropathic pain. I think this article is very interesting!, if you understand this better than i do, could you help me translate i tinto every day words?

This is the article:

Thank you all. Hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving day!

Lightbulb It appears

that retinoic acid is being looked at for improving
diabetic neuropathy.

I do not think that the topical form works the same way.

Given by injection into the body and/or orally delivers much MORE drug.

All of the oral retinoic acid derivatives we have so far are very toxic. So that would be a factor in its use, if it progresses past the experimental stages.

Accutane is already being used for some cancer treatments:

Default Retinoic Acid used for chemo induced neuropathy

I realize this post is a couple of years old, but I recently ran across a study that shows retinoic acid is effective at reducing chemotherapy induced neuropathy in both an animal model and patients with lung cancer. It appears to be the same research team that conducted the earlier diabetes study. The research points to the retinoic acid increasing the production of nerve growth factor. Hopefully an effective and safe therapy can be developed in the near future.

This study can be found in Pubmed -
