Cycleops,
I have been living in Boulder since 1973. There has been many changes since I have been here, most of them not good. You mentioned the traffic which gets congested during rush hour and lunch time. This was supposed to be a controlled growth city, but there has bee quite a bit pf growth. Many people cannot affod to live here so they have to commute to Boulder to work. It is still a nice place to live. I am not sure what the Boulder of the midwest would be. My guess would be Madison |
You are a Boulderite! And yes your guess is correct! Urban growth is a pain, we have it too...along with traffic congestions...at least here, I know where I am going.
For general consumption: On the cold feet....the problem with those with neuropathy, is the nerves themselves. With nerve malfunction, even with warm or cold external sources, the nerves themselves may decide to transmit erroneous signals. The cold sensation is just the opposite of the burning sensation....we don't plunge our feet in ice because they burn..(well maybe some folks do). I think it is good to keep your feet warm, but it may not stop the cold sensation....not much stops the numbing sensation. Well, I have a doggie trainer coming...yes, I bit for one. My one dog has separation anxiety and he needs to get used to going with a stranger, because he has to go to a kennel for a weekend soon. I need to go clean up the house. I made quite a mess with my gingerbread adventure, as did my dogs with their snow play....messy counters and dirty floors to clean. I made it thru the day without any burns or electrocution. Now to fight the urge to eat all that gingerbread. (My dog ate the collapsed roof of the house already.) |
Yes, c, experienced that phenomenon myslf but that was a long time ago. during a particularly stressful time in my life when I consumed a Wee bit too much alcohol on a regular basis. I'm not proud of it but I used it a a coping mechanism when I was in a situation that I just couldn't cope with. I have to say now that I see that wasn't the solution, it ruined my health. It's been over 15 years since I have done that kind of thing but looking back now I see how much damage I did to myelf and Coping??? Naa, just made things worse and prolonged the situation.
Anyway, Ihad that periferal neuopathy. The burning sensation in my feet. getting into a hot tub and my feet felt Cold. Effects of alcohol. I have a smilie that typifies it. Not a good one so hold on. ;) Let me add this. ALL of theose foot problems have gone away but it oo years. |

Since this is a thread about cold feet, various aches and pains, etc. (and I really don't want to go off topic, but believe me, THIS WILL MAKE YOU LAUGH YOUR AS* OFF!!!
Here. Take a look and enjoy!!!.. http://weblogs.newsday.com/news/opin...y_boomers.html |
Oh God!!! Do we really look and sound like that??? I watch the women at the Y and I think to myself, Man, she looks so old. Then come to find out she is Younger than I am. I think it's the basics going awry. Older women tend to chop off all their hair and colour it these wierd colours. I am the same colour as I have always been and my hair is still long, down my back. Their bodies enlarge and with no hair and a big body, well, there ya go.
Smaller body, big hair, not teased and poofed up, I mean just an Ample amount, to me looks more youthful than chopping it off, wearing too much make up and being fat. It's simple. Get a handle on those 3 things, IMO, and you look better and younger than you are. Oh and I found the comments Under that animation Very Good, especially ONE................ Give me fresh air anytime. I hate gyms, for they are a cesspool for staph and STD's and other infectious diseases. Now I enjoy life more than before, but I do miss the money and wish I could work, but being forced into retirement due to unforseenable health complications, staying healthy is my number one goal. Hope you all stay healthy in the new year. Life is more than money, good looks being shown offs; it is best to be healthy than being good looking. Give me an at home treadmill any day. They can keep their gyms! I would rather be fat and healthy than be skinny and sick!! |
Hi. Melody that was cute. I needed a cute chuckle.
As for the toe warmers they were on the outside of the sock. They get real hot and when your sensitive and numb it hurts. For me once I go cold it takes a lot to warm up my feet. I even tried these battery socks for men that work outside. Horrible all I can say. I have a hard enough time with socks and that battery on my ankle was horrible plus the wires I could feel on the bottom of the socks. |
Mel
I laughed so hard, I think I ruptured my surgical glue. Put this puppy on a separate thread....it needs to be seen! |
Okay, I'll start a different thread. I hope that's okay!!!
