I can't believe how bad off I am, body wide numbness, now it's in my hands and my back side, the numbness in my face is so bad that now I look like I have a sunburn across my nose at times, what in the heck is this, how can all this happen over a few months time, I am so worried it has spread so fast, I had a skin biopsy yesterday the neuro Doc said it takes 4 weeks for results, MrsD I got my fasting insulin test back it was 4.1MU/L reference range 3.0-25.0 so it's normal, I am scheduled to go to a University hospital Nov.9th, I just hope I can hold out that long, if anyone has any idea what this might be I would love to hear from you, this is so hard not knowing. Well, it really does seem viral. Are your motor/movement functions still working okay? This is only sensory?

At least you know it is not your sugar or low blood sugar doing this. And you have redness now?

Have you had autoimmune testing? Immune globulins etc?

Is it a rash acrossed your nose or just redness. I developed roscea with my neuropathy. Does the reddness spread across your nose and look like a butterfly when you look at yourself?

That butterfly redness on the cheeks and nose= lupus!
That is a cardinal symptom, but not all lupus patients have it.

The neuro Doc did a sed rate and said it was normal I think it was 7 does that make sense? My motor functions movements are fine, I do feel like my face is on fire with the numbness, my nose and cheeks get really red and then about after an hour it goes away. I don't think it looks like a butterfly but I don't know for sure, wouldn't my sedrate numbers be out of whack and not normal? My face was one of the last places to develop numbness so far, it has moved progressively from my toes up. This seems so far only sensory, any thoughts? Jan

My sed rate has been over 25 for my whole adult life.

Rheumatoid factor and Lupus may give false negative.
I've had those tests twice. Negative each time.

I'd start looking at your soaps, bedding, daily activities that expose you to suspicious chemicals. Sometimes it is a weird thing... like feathers in your bedding/pillows. Or the fabric softeners you use.
Double rinse your clothes, to remove all soap residues and don't use fabric softeners.

You really have to become a detective... looking at everything.
Even the potential of toxic black mold hidden in your house?
Now that the obvious things are being eliminated, the more rare things have to be ferreted out.

My husband has Rosecea. The most prominent redness is his nose. The dematologist has prescribe Metro creme (Metronidazole). When he remembers to use it every night, his condition really improves. I can always tell when he has not been using it though; his nose gets really quite reddish.

Unfortunately, this only covers only one of the problems you have mentioned.
